Gurgaon Has Better Quality Of Life Than Singapore, Hong Kong & Kuala Lumpur, Claims A New Study
The latest study by Numbeo, avowedly the world’s largest database provider of current and timely information on world living conditions including cost of living, housing indicators, health care, traffic, crime and pollution, Gurgaon has a better quality of life than Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
As someone who hails from the given city, it’s a gigantic claim.
The index report, Gurgaon was at 141, ahead of Hong Kong (145), Kuala Lumpur (173) and Singapore (155), scoring high on purchasing power and health care.
Moving ahead from Gurgaon, the other Indian cities that managed a spot in this list is the city of Mangalore in Karnataka, which has been ranked 48th among the list of global cities, winning over cities like Hamburg, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Madrid, Prague, New York, and Tokyo.
These rankings are based on user-generated data and rely heavily on multiple parameters like cost of living, purchasing power, property price-to-income ratio, traffic commute time, pollution and climate.
Mangalore scored high on health care, purchasing power and safety.
Another Indian city that bagged a noteworthy spot on the list was Pune at 102, ahead of New York City (106) and London (129).
According to the index, Gurgaon is beating Delhi and Noida in life quality as well, but only people living in Gurgaon can tell the reality. Let’s hope that this claim that seems too fragile and precarious is able to facilitate what it preaches.
